Rafting rentals, unlike white water raft rentals, is slow rafting and ideal for children, families, and corporate team building events. The trip begins upstream from the Pinawa Diversion Dam, where the Winnipeg River and the Pinawa Channel starts and runs for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. This trip features beautiful boreal forest, rugged granite walls, and you can often see turtles sunning themselves.
If you're new to paddleboarding, don't worry! Our team of trained professionals offers lessons to get you started. It's a great way to explore the waters and develop a new skill.
About a 12 minute drive, sitting on the Winnipeg River, Pinawa Dam, Manitoba's inaugural hydro-electric generating station, now resides within the historic Old Pinawa Dam Park, offering walking paths and opportunities for rapids surfing in its turbid waters. (Make sure you have a 1 day, weekend or year Manitoba Provincial Park Pass)
Our marina provides a gateway to a variety of water-based activities, including canoeing and boating. It's the perfect place to launch your aquatic adventures, all located on our property.
Challenge your balance, coordination, and teamwork while tackling an exciting floating obstacle course in the picturesque waters of Pinawa. (Make sure to book online through the Hoopla website days or even weeks prior to coming out)

"We decided very last minute to go tubing on Friday afternoon for my belated birthday gift. The Wilderness Edge staff made it possible; Kelly showed us everything we needed to do. It was pretty much seamless (except being told to hide our keys). The tubing was incredibly fun and relaxing and scenic. Hands down, it’s now one of my favourite things to do in Manitoba. After posting pics on social media, several of my friends contacted me to see how they could have the same experience. We will be back."
"Wilderness Edge is an escape from the hustle and bustle of Winnipeg only one hour away, amazing! There is so much to do here: kayaking, hiking, canoeing, biking, rowing, golfing or you can just relax in their wonderful hot tub! The staff is very friendly making you feel right at home. The food is most delicious! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Wilderness Edge. The rooms are very spacious with great views. We had a small kitchen and a living room in our room, which was really convenient. Would HIGHLY recommend this place!"
